Human Trafficking Awareness is Everyone’s Responsibility Presentation
January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and Mother of Sorrows has scheduled a presentation by Ted Rusinoff, Chairman of the Board of The Exodus Road (theexodusroad.com), an international organization established to fight modern-day slavery by partnering with law enforcement to fight human trafficking crime and empower survivors on their journey to freedom.  The presentation will take place at Mother of Sorrows Church at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 22.  This event is designed to educate, equip, and empower community members to recognize the signs of trafficking and learn how we can work together to protect the vulnerable.  Everyone is welcome. Rosary & Weekday Mass
Once a month, we recite the rosary (at 8:45 am) before celebrating weekday Mass (at 9:00 am).  Please join us on Wednesday, January 21. [posted 1/16-21/2026]

Faith and Fiction Book Club
At our January 14 meeting we will discuss Encounter with Angels: The Invisible Companions of Our Spiritual Life by Odile Haumonté.  Come and explore something different; if you don't like reading, listen to the audiobook version.  We’re composed of men and women, parishioners and non-parishioners, Catholics and non-Catholics.  Everyone is welcome.  We gather at 10:00 am for coffee and catch-up and begin our book discussion promptly at 10:30 so that we can be finished by noon. Volunteer at St Vincent de Paul Ozanam Center
It is our parish's turn to volunteer on 1/10 from 9:15 am-12:00 pm. Volunteer opportunities depend on the number of volunteers present and may include staffing clothing rooms, counting clothes, sorting donations.  The center is located at 93 Kent St, Akron, OH 44305. [posted 1/2-10/2026]

We wish you many blessings during this holiday season.  Remember that Solemnity of Mary, Holy Mother of God is a holy day of obligation.  Please join us at one our Masses to mark this holy day-- on New Years Eve Mass will be celebrated on 5:00 pm Mass and on New Years Day, we will celebrate with Mass at 9:30 am.
